Client Development Manager - Security (North & Scotland Focus)

Full time, Monday - Friday 40 hours per week
Pay: 70,000 + 6,600 car allowance per annum + commission scheme
Join Our Team as a Client Development Manager.
In this role, you will take responsibility for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities within the security sector, while also maintaining and enhancing relationships with existing clients and stakeholders. You will work closely with our operations teams, senior management, and proposals team to devise winning strategies that not only secure new contracts but also ensure the retention of our current portfolio. You will lead tender strategies, guide pricing decisions, and oversee presentation preparations, ensuring every submission reflects the highest standards and is tailored to client needs.
A key part of the position will involve managing a portfolio of strategic accounts, creating and delivering strategic account plans, and implementing retention strategies to safeguard client relationships. You will be proactive in resolving any issues that may impact contract extensions and will work to avoid re-tendering wherever possible. Building a strong industry network will be essential, as will positioning Wilson James to be included in future tender opportunities. While the role has a national remit, your primary focus will be on growth within the North of England, the Midlands, and Scotland. The role is classed as a remote worker andt you will be required to travel within the UK and attend internal meetings in London when necessary.
You will also be responsible for:

Identify and develop customer-focused win themes and value propositions
Leverage industry knowledge and networks to uncover new opportunities
Collaborate with Security Operations and Bid teams to shape winning solutions
Communicate effectively through strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
Design, implement, and evaluate innovative marketing campaigns
Adapt quickly and perform under pressure in a dynamic environment
Produce clear, professional reports using Microsoft Office tools

- based on the margin contribution generated by each contract secured by the Client Development Manager. Payments will be made in two phases: the first instalment will be paid after the contract has commenced, and the second instalment will be released once the service has been confirmed as running in line with the agreed terms and performance standards. This structure ensures that commissions reward both the initial sale and the delivery of sustainable, profitable service to Wilson James.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for a driven and client-focused professional with proven experience in business development within the security sector. You should be able to demonstrate a strong industry network, the ability to identify and develop winning propositions for clients, and a history of working collaboratively with operational and bid teams to achieve results. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment. You should be confident using IT systems, particularly the Microsoft Office suite, and ideally have experience with CRM tools. A full UK driving licence is required, and it would be advantageous to hold professional memberships, a recognised security or risk management qualification, or an SIA licence.
