THE ROLE
As a Client Relationship Director you will be responsible for taking the lead in effectively
managing and nurturing high value relationships with a portfolio of pension clients and also business partners to develop and grow the master trust.
You will build long term loyalty, delivering strategies for retention and development of accounts, increasing revenue whilst demonstrating good member outcomes.
You will represent Smart Pension in the acquisition of new business, contributing to RFP
response and delivery of pitch presentations, building relationships through the onboarding process.
Main responsibilities will include;
Building, developing and retaining strong proactive relationships with key clients and chosen partners.
Proactively providing information and guidance to clients and partners to develop the account with mutual benefit in mind.
Through evaluation of data and collaboration with the client, understand their strategic aspirations to inform written proposals and lead presentations, leveraging the client relationship in engaging their employees, the pension membership.
Preempting the risk warnings and effectively using retention tactics.
Playing an active and innovative role in contributing towards the evolution of the
service proposition menu to help secure new and retain existing key relationships. Producing and delivering governance reporting and account plans in a way that drives further engagement and nurtures growth in the account.
Taking responsibility for resolving risks and issues in a timely manner with balance of client and commercial outlook.
Ensuring effective interaction with distribution, implementation and administration
colleagues. Building and owning key relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the business, with ability to influence and leverage those relationships for mutual business and client benefit.
Winning endorsement to support future new business pitches.
Collaborating with an internal employer forum that seeks to act on data and insights to improve the service proposition and experience. Demonstrate expert knowledge of product, relevant systems and processes.
Demonstrate first class customer experience ethos and role model behaviours amongst client and team.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The skills, experience, and aptitudes we are looking for are listed below but please don't be discouraged from applying if you don't meet every single one of these criteria - having a 'can do' attitude is sometimes more important than being able to tick every box:
Market credibility and proven track record of retention using ranging strategies and
thought leadership to develop long term relationships. Business Relationship Management Professional (preferred Strategic) accreditation.
Successful track record of meeting targets in developing client relationships within the pension market.
Strong application of business acumen to identify, understand and leverage
opportunity and create solutions that meet all stakeholder requirements. Analytical ability to interpret, present and use data to build proposals with clear and effective call to action.
Excellent working knowledge of pension and investment knowledge, legislation and the broader Workplace pensions market with ability to apply that in the context of Smart's service proposition.
Sound operational knowledge to ensure clients are managed within boundaries that ensure safe ongoing service delivery.
Ability to navigate the organisation and range of stakeholders to get the best results.
Reliability and adaptability - a flexible, hands on, can do approach is essential.
Organised and structured in approach to ensure delivery against promises made with effective communication to internal stakeholders.
Willingness to travel nationally to visit clients.
