Join us as a Climate & Purpose Policy Manager

  • You\xe2\x80\x99ll support the organisation in the delivery of end-to-end climate- and sustainability-related reporting and control activity

What you\'ll do

As a Climate & Purpose Policy Manager, you\xe2\x80\x99ll identify, understand, interpret and communicate changes and developments to regulation and standards which impact the group\'s climate and sustainability-related disclosures.

Along with this, you\xe2\x80\x99ll act as a key partner as you proactively contribute to decision making on complex or specialist issues, demonstrating judgement and a thorough understanding of the business. You\'ll also help develop our sustainability reporting, it\xe2\x80\x99s interoperability with financial reporting and control environment to meet emerging regulatory requirements and standards.

Day to day, you\xe2\x80\x99ll:
  • Manage key processes and controls to find new and changing sustainability regulation and standards
  • Help colleagues to understand the associated impacts while supporting them to initiate any required changes to processes, policies, systems and controls
  • Act as an internal customer relationship manager and effectively maintain relationships with stakeholders
  • Support the delivery of accurate and timely insights and interpretations of regulatory and policy developments
  • Develop the bank\'s ability to report on how the bank\'s activities impact, and are dependent on the environment, society and our stakeholders, and the risks and opportunities these create
The skills you\'ll need

To succeed in this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll bring experience of considering sustainability for customers and our business, alongside an ability to understand and apply regulatory requirements into a business context.

You\xe2\x80\x99ll have worked in a global context and will have the ability to build and maintain good working relationships with a variety of stakeholders in a changing environment.

We\xe2\x80\x99ll also look to you to bring:
  • A proven ability to build working relationships with a variety of stakeholders and customers across organisations and geographical boundaries
  • Up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards, financial services regulation and the regulatory development process
  • Good communication skills and the ability to clearly and succinctly articulate complex issues to senior management
  • Demonstrable commitment to continuous improvement activity
  • An astute eye for detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
