Scarborough Chiropractic Clinic has an exciting opportunity for a clinic receptionist to join our small family chiropractic practice based in the heart of Scarborough, North Yorkshire.
Hours of work:
Monday 8.15am-4.45pm
Tuesday 11.45am - 7.15pm
Thursday 8.45am - 7.15pm
Job share considered. The post may require the candidate to work additional hours to cover holidays and sickness if job share agreed.
The successful candidate will be required to provide effective and efficient reception and administrative services for the clinic in a professional and courteous manner.
We are looking for someone who is confident, has excellent communication skills, is highly organised and can offer a friendly and warm welcome to our patients.
Duties and responsibilities:
To assist the chiropractor to provide a good standard of primary healthcare for patients in a professional and confidential manner.
Maintain the computerised appointment system.
To be able to respond to all patient queries and requests both on the phone and email.
To advise patients of charges for treatment, accept payment and issue receipts.
Management of medical records - to retrieve and file records as required. Assist with the scanning of correspondence, reports, results etc. ensuring documents are scanned in the correct records.
Ensure paper records are kept neat and tidy and in good repair.
To be familiar with the start of day and end of day procedures.
Assist with any other administration tasks within the clinic.
The above constitute the main responsibilities of the post and may be subject to change, to meet the needs of the clinic. Any changes will be discussed prior to implementation wherever possible.

In the course of seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters. They do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately. In the performance of the duties outlined in this , the post-holder will have access to confidential information relating to patients. They may also have access to information relating to the clinic as a business organisation. All such information from any source is to be regarded as strictly confidential.
Information relating to patients, carers, colleagues, other healthcare workers or the business of the clinic may only be divulged to authorised persons in accordance with the clinic policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data.
Learning and Development:
The post-holder will participate in any training programme implemented by the clinic as part of this employment, such training to include:
Taking responsibility for their own development, learning and performance and demonstrating skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar work.
Undertake mandatory and statutory training as required.
Health & Safety:
The post-holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others' health, safety and security.
Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks
Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills
Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards
