About the role
The PBS Clinical Assistant will be a key member of the clinical team to support the implementation of PBS across the organisation. They will work closely with the people we support and their support team to ensure competency in PBS and quality of PBS plans.
The role PBS Clinical Assistant will be to work flexibly across the IOW region with some support across other regions as required. The role will be supporting to embed our values and culture within the support we provide. It is a very varied role which may include the following;
Supporting a person to move into their new home with a carefully planned transition period
Supporting a person when they are experiencing significant levels of distress and their support
is finding this challenging
Driving improvements in the quality of the support we provide
Providing direct coaching and mentoring to our team members through role modelling and
assessing the competency of others
activities of daily living skills (ADLS) assessments etc) and implementing evidence based
clinical interventions under the close supervision of our PBS clinical team
Completing cultures checklists and mediator analysis
Building strong rapport and professional working relationships with the people we support will be central to the role, and role modelling to other team members on how to build trusting relationships is essential. The PBS Clinical Assistant will also need to build strong relationships with all our team members and work in partnership with other professionals. Clear, positive, and professional communication is essential to achieving this.
The PBS Clinical Assistant will also be responsible for supporting supervised consultancy work for families with personal budgets or other organisations to support their delivery of PBS.

About you
Experience of working with people with learning disabilities, autism and behaviours
that may challenge
BSc Psychology - desirable
Passing grade in a science or social science (A Level) / Merit (BTEC/CTEC/Access)
or equivalent (e.g. International Baccalaureate 104-120 points) - essential
GCSE A- C or 9-4 pass in English Language and Mathematics is required (certified
alternatives, such as Functional Skills level 2 will be considered)- essential
Some existing and developing knowledge and skills in Positive Behaviour Support
Experience of working in the care industry
