About the role:
The Clinical Assurance function is an established team within Octopus. Due to the growth of the company\'s investment in care, we are now offering the exciting opportunity for a nurse to join the team. The role is a unique opportunity for an experienced registered nurse who is seeking a new challenge that will allow you to combine existing clinical experience and develop skills in risk management and quality oversight within a health investment fund. Primarily the team deliver continual oversight of a portfolio of care homes, retirement villages and SEN Schools (with CQC registration), ensuring clinical and quality standards are maintained. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be required to work as part of a small team within the operational hub within Octopus Real Estate. You\xe2\x80\x99ll manage a small caseload and provide oversight and risk management with support. This role will require an understanding of operational and regulatory functions within Health and Social care. The role does not have a requirement for operational responsibility or hands on nursing care, however it will allow you to develop a unique set of skills bringing health care, corporate and investment management together. The role will require flexible national travel for site visits. During site visits you\xe2\x80\x99ll conduct meetings with care home leadership teams or relevant quality leads. Information collected will be through physical meetings, home level observational assessments and data review. You\xe2\x80\x99ll also be responsible for growing and strengthening existing relationships within the clinical assurance portfolio. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be responsible for data collection and monitoring of regulatory and quality performance at a home and group level. Information collected will be reported weekly at a team meeting and to the Clinical Assurance Board on a bi-monthly basis. This is a very varied some and would suit someone who enjoys working in a small team, can work autonomously and has a keen interest in improving quality care standards. The role will include involvement at educational days and networking events hosted by the clinical assurance team. This is an exciting time to join the clinical assurance team due to the growth of the portfolio. Although there is not a requirement to have any operational responsibility there is an expectation that you will maintain and be supported to keep your professional registration. Responsibilities:

  • Caseload management initially with support.
  • Responsibility to maintain regular oversight of caseload including onsite visits and update meetings as per the clinical assurance policy.
  • Carry out autonomous national site visits and provide operational monitoring updates.
  • Provide operational oversight and insight for the caseload including regulatory compliance and service quality.
  • Tracking of CQC reports for operators within the fund / caseload.
  • CQC reports are reviewed, analysed and feedback provided to relevant team.
  • Oversight of data uploads ensuring data is submitted for the allocated caseload.
  • Produce written reports for the investment team as required.
  • Support educational days and networking events
  • Active involvement and delivery of sessions and workshops at the educational and networking events, including best practice initiatives and sector updates.
  • Attend sector specific conferences to ensure knowledge is kept up to date.
  • Attendance to weekly team meetings and bi monthly board meetings
  • Establish and manage client relationships.
  • Willingness to develop skills in corporate risk management and have and understanding of how operational risk can impact the investment fund.
  • Provide regulatory or healthcare sector advice to the wider Octopus Real Estate team as required


Qualifications
\xe2\x9c\x85 NMC Registered Nurse with active PIN. \xe2\x9c\x85 Nursing experience ideally with social care exposure. \xe2\x9c\x85 Previous experience of case load management, data collection and trend / risk analysis (Skills are desirable; support will be given to develop skills if required). \xe2\x9c\x85 Exceptional communication skills, comfortable presenting information / findings to other internal and external teams. \xe2\x9c\x85 Good organisational skill and the ability to adapt to change, maintaining an agile approach to business priorities. \xe2\x9c\x85 Must be comfortable using technology and leveraging digital applications and media platforms. \xe2\x9c\x85 Happy to travel nationally with overnight stays where required. \xe2\x9c\x85 Full UK driving licence. This role is broadly in line with level 6 banding.
