Remote Clinical/Medical Coder (Primary Care)

Work Location: Remote

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised Clinical or Medical Coder to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, proficiency in relevant software, and a solid understanding of medical terminology. If successful, you will be responsible for accurately assigning appropriate medical codes to patient records for health care purposes.

Duties

Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to clarify information for accurate coding; Utilise software applications such as EMIS, Docman, Microsoft and Excel; Manage and prioritise coding assignments efficiently; Apply knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy in assigning codes; Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with established coding guidelines; Demonstrate proficiency in English language for documentation and communication purposes; Exhibit strong time management skills to meet coding deadlines; Perform administrative tasks related to coding, such as data entry and record maintenance; Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and organisational policies; Provide excellent customer service by addressing coding-related queries promptly; Utilise Microsoft Outlook for communication and scheduling purposes.

Experience

Previous experience in primary care medical coding is essential. Experience on GP Systems is essential (EMIS/Docman). Strong attention to detail and accuracy in assigning codes is crucial. Proficient in using office software like Excel and Outlook. Strong organisational and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
