Clinical coder/summariser:



Bicester Health Centre are one of the longest established GP practices in Bicester, located close to the town centre. We have around 19,500 patients registered with us and are served by a large clinical team of GP's, Nurses, Pharmacy, Physio, Mind Workers and Admin. We strive to provide the best care we can for our patients and take pride in the service we offer as a team.

We are recruiting a clinical coder/summariser to join our friendly, welcoming team of dedicated professionals. This candidate will be enthusiastic and reliable to help us provide the highest quality care to our local community.

We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks. Good timekeeping is important along with the ability to work well under pressure, and a desire to learn and improve.

Job Summary:



As a clinical coder/summariser, you will be supporting the clinicians to ensure that patient clinical information is correctly included on the patients' GP record, appropriately coded, and circulated to the clinician where further action is required.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Accurately coding data onto patient records to agreed practice protocols.

Identifying clinical information, coding appropriately and completing detailed actions.

Amending and/or making additions to medical records to ensure that correct and complete information is added to each patient's electronic record.

Raising GP reports for safeguarding requests.

Scanning of patient documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients' health records.

Deal with queries relating to coding.

Additional ad hoc tasks within the team as required.

Schedule:



- 20 hours per week

Experience:



Previous experience in a medical setting.

Accurate with excellent attention to detail.

Organised and able to prioritise a busy and challenging workload.

Experience of administrative work.

Discrete and able to maintain confidentiality.

Flexible with a positive, can-do attitude.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously.

Excellent IT skills.

Computer skills



Must be familiar and very confident in using Emis Web, Docman and usual office software
