We are delighted to offer an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic and compassionate Clinical Psychologist/Practitioner Psychologist to step into a newly established Band 8b Clinical Lead role within our vibrant and friendly Salford Early Intervention in Psychosis service (EIP) and the Early Detection and Intervention Team (EDIT).



The post holder will provide direct clinical work, while also supporting all aspects of psychological and psych-social intervention work carried within the EI and EDIT teams, via the provision of supervision, consultation and training and co-working opportunities. The post holder will promote a normalising, trauma informed, continua based approach to understanding psychosis (e.g., by regularly contributing to MDT discussions, supervision and training) .



This is an opportunity to lead psychological care provision in Salford for people identified as being 'at risk' of developing first episode psychosis, and those experiencing first episode psychosis. Salford EDIT and EI teams are multidisciplinary teams with a strong culture of facilitating personal recovery via psychological and psychosocial interventions.



The post-holder will lead on the development and delivery of psychological interventions, ensuring high quality evidence-based and trauma-informed practice across the pathway. They will benefit from strong peer support within a highly skilled network of psychologists across GMMH and have access to excellent CPD opportunities, as well as reflective practice, and research opportunities.



We are looking for:

An HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist/Practitioner psychologist with substantial post-qualification experience in adult mental health and especially psychosis, with extensive experience of working well within multidisciplinary NHS teams, with expertise in CBT for psychosis and Family Interventions, with considerable supervision and leadership experience.

The post holder will regularly provide specialist direct clinical work (i.e. assessment and formulation-driven evidence-based interventions) for people experiencing first episode psychosis, and their families. They will maintain oversight and provide clinical leadership to facilitate the development, implementation and appropriate governance of all aspects of psychological work and will specifically promote Cognitive behavioural Therapy for psychosis (CBTp) and Family Intervention work within the Salford EI and EDIT services



As well as providing supervision, consultation and training sessions, the post holder will also regularly input to multidisciplinary team-based discussions, using their specialist knowledge to promote and support a normalised, trauma informed and continua-based understanding of service users' at-risk and first episode experiences



When appropriate, the post holder will use their specialist skills and knowledge to develop and evaluate the introduction of new evidence-based psychological intervention work. Other duties will include contributing to service development initiatives and audit and research activity relevant to the needs of the service as required.



The post holder will also be expected to liaise with the psychology leads in other community teams and acute services and to attend various meetings within Salford and the wider Trust as required.



The post holder will be expected to provide and facilitate the provision of trainee placements.
