Priory Hospital Southampton is looking to recruit a Clinical/ Councilling Psychologist to join the team on our specialist eating disorder ward, Skylark. We have both full-time and part-time roles available, with hours to be discussed during the interview process.
Set within beautiful, landscaped gardens, Priory Hospital Southampton's tranquil environment offers therapeutic and recovery-focused residential treatment for those suffering from a number of mental health conditions. We can support adult males and females with acute mental health needs, as well as eating disorders.
Priory's acute and PICU services aim to allow more people to be treated closer to home and we support the NHS to repatriate out-of-area patients back to local areas.
What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As a registered Psychologist, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.Deliver group therapy across three wards, including eating disorder groups and sessions for adults on acute admission in Starling and Sandpiper wards.
Utilize CBT, DBT, and/or ACT approaches in group therapy delivery (experience desirable).
Provide carer support, conduct assessments, and create psychological formulations for adult acute wards.
Facilitate staff training, offer consults and peer supervision, and lead reflective practice sessions.
Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team including occupational therapists, psychiatrists, dietitians, social workers, and medical staff.

What you'll bring to the role

The successful candidate will be an HCPC-registered practitioner psychologist, ideally with experience in outpatient or inpatient NHS services, reflecting the NHS-facing and inpatient nature of this role. This position requires on-site presence, with therapies delivered in person. The candidate will join a passionate and positive psychology team led by a Counselling Psychologist and comprising a Therapist, Clinical Psychologist, Creative Arts Therapist, and Assistant Psychologist. This team operates within the wider therapy services, overseen by Therapy Manager and Occupational Therapist, Sarah Marsh.
