Job Description

Step into a dynamic and rewarding role as a Clinical Education Tutor within Hywel Dda University Health Board. As a key member of the Clinical Education Team, you'll help shape the future of healthcare by delivering high-impact learning experiences -- from induction and simulation-based training to OSCEs and professional development for support staff.



You'll combine hands-on clinical knowledge with innovative teaching methods , using digital tools and blended learning to support diverse learners across care settings. You'll contribute to service improvement, quality assurance, and educational programme design, all while supporting staff through mentoring and evaluation.

This role requires a proactive, organised, and collaborative educator with a passion for empowering healthcare staff and improving patient care through education.



Education & Training Delivery



Deliver and facilitate programmes including induction, support worker development, simulation-based education, OSCEs, and other organisational priority training.

Design and adapt blended learning opportunities tailored to individual learning needs.

Assess written work and practical competencies in workplace settings.



Programme Development & Quality



Co-develop educational resources and programmes with colleagues and stakeholders.

Participate in quality assurance through standardisation meetings and feedback processes.

Support the continuous improvement of training delivery and learner experience.



Team Collaboration & Leadership



Work independently and as part of the Clinical Education Team.

Supervise and mentor colleagues to enhance educational skills.

Contribute to planning, timetabling, communication, and maintaining learner records.



Communication & Stakeholder Engagement



Maintain effective communication with internal teams and external partners.

Promote training opportunities and educational compliance across the Health Board.



Digital & Technical Tasks



Set up and maintain training equipment and environments.

Use and maintain IT systems for record-keeping, reporting, and developing training materials.



Monitoring, Governance & Evaluation



Participate in audits, governance, research, and service improvement projects.

Ensure training and compliance records meet awarding body and policy standards



Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. We do this in partnership with our three local authorities and public, private and third sector colleagues, including our volunteers, through:



Four main hospitals:

Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest;



Seven community hospitals:

Amman Valley and Llandovery in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron, Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire;



48 general practices (four of which are managed practices), 47 dental practices (including three orthodontic), 99 community pharmacies, 44 general ophthalmic practices (43 providing Eye Health Examination Wales and 34 low vision services) and 17 domiciliary only providers and 11 health centres;



Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;



Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.



The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
