An opportunity has arisen for the appointment of Clinical Engineering (Biomedical and Medical Equipment)Manager at Manchester Foundation Trust (MFT). You will be part of our cross site Management Team supporting our 10 hospitals and additional community services around and beyond Greater Manchester to deliver our constantly evolving and improving services to stakeholders and of course our patients
Main duties of the job
As part of your portfolio you will be required to lead facets of our multidisciplinary service across our sites, developing our staff and continuously improving our services for the needs of our patients
This key role will involve overseeing the safe and effective management of medical devices, equipment maintenance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. You will play a central role in driving improvements, implementing cutting-edge technologies, and fostering a culture of continuous development across the team.

  • B. Eng. Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent electronic engineering qualification and experience, plus additional knowledge to postgraduate diploma level and specialist training and experience to Masters or equivalent level
  • Recognised Management Qualification.
  • Biomedical Engineering certificate or equivalent relevant experience
Desirable
  • B.E ng. (Hons) Degree in Electronic Engineering
  • Member of Professional Body MIET, MIPEM
  • Chartered Engineer C.Eng MIETIMIEP
  • Governance/Risk Management/Health and Safety training
Experience
Essential
  • Minimum of three years previous experience as a Site Clinical Engineering Manager within the NHS.
  • Experience in financial management of budgets and cost saving projects.
  • Experience in managing complex contracts.
  • Specialist knowledge of electro medical systems and applications.
  • Extensive practical experience in electronic and mechanical workshop practices for at least 5 years post qualification, within Clinical Engineering, with a further 5 years experience as a Senior Clinical Engineer in an Acute Hospital environment.
