Applications are being welcomed to offer the opportunity for a Clinical Fellow to join the respiratory team and to work on the Lung Cancer Screening Programme.
The service offers a position of Clinical Fellow designed to provide individually tailored experience and training for those who have yet to decide their chosen career pathway, wish to consider some time out of training, or want to develop a special interest in specific areas of lung cancer and respiratory medicine. The post is offered on a permanent contract, for the purposes to provide increased training opportunities outside of a formal training programme.
The post holder will have responsibility for delivering care to patients within the respiratory service based at Bradford Royal Infirmary. This will include inpatient and outpatient-based services. Inpatient work will include review of patients with respiratory illness on different wards, and participating in EBUS and bronchoscopy lists. The outpatient responsibility includes participation in lung MDT, Fasttrack and General Respiratory Clinics. There is no on call commitment with this job however there are opportunities in the Trust if interested.
This post will commence in August 2025.
The main duties of the post are the day-to-day management of patients, wards, and out-patients. They will have the opportunity to develop specialty skills such as management of patients with lung cancer, bronchoscopy, EBUS and management of other general respiratory conditions as well as conducting audit and evaluation. They will be expected to manage patients in clinics under consultant supervision and have the opportunity to attend specialist clinics across the service . There will be opportunity to be involved in research. Registrars are expected to develop in-depth practice within the expectations of their skills level.
The clinical fellow will undertake any other relevant duties allocated by the Consultants, which may be necessary from time to time.
The clinical fellow will undertake to perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances, and to provide prospective cover for leave of other middle grade staff.
