About the role



As

Clinical Imaging Research Assistant

you'll form part of the highly specialised team operating the MR systems at our state-of-the-art clinical trial imaging clinic based adjacent to Hammersmith Hospital in West London.


Providing support to MR Operators, you'll play an important role assisting in the set-up and execution of MRI studies and will also be encouraged to contribute to analysis activities.


Offered on a 2-year, fixed-term contract basis and managing a diverse workload, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain first hand exposure to MR operations within a leading-edge imaging clinic.


Principal Accountabilities



Assisting in the set-up and data collection activities relating to commercial or academic MRI projects Providing support to MR operators Conducting analyses of (f)MRI data as required.

Specific Activities



Interacting with patients (recruitment, before/during scanning sessions, post-visit follow-up). Keeping detailed and accurate records, ensuring patient confidentiality, and fulfilling the requirements of the Data Protection Act. Ensuring research is undertaken in compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards, the applicable study protocol and the local rules of Perceptive London. Providing general assistance in data collection (administering pre- or post-scan questionnaires, deploying stimulus programs during scans, maintaining databases etc.) Accepting training and research supervision from members of the Research teams. Performing analyses of the functional MRI data resulting from relevant projects Performing analyses on other experimental (behavioural, physiological) data resulting from relevant projects Performing the duties of an MR operator as per corporate procedures.

Skills/Experience



Experience in clinical, neuroscientific, or imaging research. Outstanding software skills, including experience with Unix/Linux systems and programming expertise (in any language; although Python, MATLAB or Unix shell-scripting would be advantageous). Statistical knowledge and expertise in common statistical packages (SPSS, R, MATLAB, etc.). A genuine enthusiasm for clinical research and a commitment to learning new techniques and skills. Committed to maintaining BLS accreditation.

Education



Post-graduate degree (MSc/MRes or similar) in Psychology, Neuroscience or other relevant discipline (e.g., Physics, Computer Science, etc.)
