About the role




Oakminster Healthcare is looking to recruit a qualified, experienced Clinical Lead who has a passion for providing person-centered care to our elderly residents. About The Role



The role and key responsibilities are

:

To lead, develop, monitor, and promote the clinical provision of care and support which optimizes the health, safety, wellbeing, and happiness of the people who use our services. To oversee, monitor, and ensure effective implementation of mental and physical healthcare based on service users' needs and wishes, which is underpinned by current legislation, best practice, and company policy. To educate care staff to a level that enables them to meet service users' uncomplicated health needs and to identify health concerns that are beyond their level of knowledge. To oversee the clinical practice of other registered nurses and provide guidance, coaching, mentoring, and training as necessary. To act as a consultant in any areas of complex physical or mental health needs. To support responsible staff and participate in the production of outcome-based support plans effective in meeting the health needs of service users. To liaise and work with visiting multidisciplinary professionals as required and to act as the service user's advocate. To complete relevant managerial tasks as requested by the Home Manager and perform managerial responsibilities in the absence of the Manager in conjunction with the Care & Support Lead. Directly contribute to and support the implementation of the organization's quality assurance systems.

Criteria



Essential



First Level Registered Nurse. Minimum 3 years post-registration in a relevant clinical/teaching role. Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to research-based practice. Understanding of the legislative framework surrounding the provision of care services. Strong written and spoken communication skills. Experience of mentoring/coaching/training. Understanding of and strong commitment to the underlying principles of individual, holistic care.

Preferred



Qualification in training and/or other relevant postgraduate qualification. Five years in an active clinical/teaching role. Proven expertise and understanding of current best practices in at least two clinical areas relevant to older people's care (e.g., tissue viability, nutrition, dementia care). Expertise and experience in a number of relevant clinical areas. Experience in writing formal reports and/or presentational experience. Experience of teaching non-health professionals. Experience of service user-focused systems of care and support. Specific knowledge of the broadest spectrum of older people's needs.
