, working alongside the Operations Manager to deliver outstanding patient care and effective team leadership.
This role blends 75% direct clinical work with 25% non-clinical responsibilities
in leadership, governance, and service development. You'll be at the forefront of ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care, while driving innovation, quality improvement, and CQC compliance.
You will work closely with senior clinicians, managers, commissioners, and system partners to shape and deliver an integrated urgent and emergency care model that meets patient needs and supports our clinical vision.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care (75%)
Deliver high-quality, patient-centred consultations and treatment.
Supervise, support, and guide other clinicians during shifts.
Ensure compliance with local and national clinical guidelines.
Uphold the highest professional standards in every interaction.
Leadership & Operational Support (25%)
Partner with the Operations Manager to set and deliver the service vision.
Hold weekly site leadership meetings to review performance, CQC compliance, risk, and service improvement.
Lead daily huddles and regular clinical practice meetings to share best practice and key updates.
Recruit, induct, appraise, and performance-manage clinical staff.
Oversee training, clinical supervision, and professional development.
Maintain a robust audit programme and deliver a site quality improvement plan.
Manage complaints, significant events, and incident reporting in line with policy (including PSIRF submissions).
Ensure clinical governance processes are embedded and effective.
Identify and escalate clinical risks appropriately.
Contribute to policy development and uphold CQC requirements.
What we are looking for?
Essential:
NMC registration with no restrictions
MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice
Independent/Non-Medical Prescribing qualification
Advanced physical assessment & consultation skills (Level 7)
At least 1 year experience as an ACP following the completion of the MSc studies in Advance Practice
Experience in managing minor illness
Strong leadership and team management capabilities
Excellent clinical governance, CQC and regulatory knowledge
Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care
Desirable:
Level 7 paediatric training
Minor injury qualification
Experience in triage/streaming in urgent care
Teaching, mentoring, or clinical supervision skills

We have a close relationship with the local hospitals and work across the city with our external partners, to ensure we are providing high-quality care for our patients. We have excellent links with the specialists at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Northern General Hospital, The Children's Hospital, Eye Casualty and Sexual Health Centre, who provide support to our clinicians and the patients attending the Walk-in Centre
