Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.What you\'ll be doingSupported by our experienced Head of Nursing and Governance, Marie, you will oversee the clinical activity of practitioners delivering macular services across our mobile units, as well as providing expert guidance and support to any new mobile units, and macular services in our other hospitals. Leading by example, you will maintain your clinical skills, performing intravitreal injections for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and other treatable macular conditions.You will provide clinical leadership demonstrating positive behaviours described in PPG\xe2\x80\x99s leadership charter for the healthcare team delivering macular services, working closely with the Consultants and wider multi-disciplinary team, as well as providing guidance and support to PPG\xe2\x80\x99s macular services in our hospitals. You will oversee the clinical activity of practitioners delivering Macular services, working in collaboration with their reporting manager for continued professional development and supervision. Leading by example, you will maintain clinical skills performing Intravitreal Injections (IVI) for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and other treatable macular conditions. As an autonomous practitioner you will apply your clinical knowledge to lead on the delivery of high quality evidenced based care for patients. You will act as a role model ensuring professional appearance and maintaining professional standards at all times.What we\'ll look for in you\xc2\xb7 Registered professional: Current registration with the NMC\xc2\xb7 Ophthalmic Nursing Qualifications\xc2\xb7 Experience working autonomously as a specialist ophthalmic practitioner following best practice guidance and identifying risk to patients through sound use of clinical expertise Evidence of implementation of local and national policies e.g. NICE guidance, developing protocols/care pathways and monitoring effectiveness\xc2\xb7 Experience demonstrating high levels of clinical expertise in decision making and judgement, enabling the development, monitoring and improvement of standard of care through supervision, clinical practice, audit, research, education and professional leadership\xc2\xb7 Evidence of sound leadership and management skills, promoting openness and transparency to harness individual input towards the strategic direction of our servicesShifts are 07.30-17.30 4 days a week covering the Yorkshire region, Tameside and Rochdale.
