An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, experienced, and forward-thinking nurse to lead and enhance the Ophthalmology services at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. This pivotal role offers the chance to contribute to the strategic and operational development of a busy and diverse multi-site service.
The Ophthalmology department includes high-volume outpatient clinics, orthoptic services, pre-operative assessment, laser treatments, and dedicated ophthalmology operating theatres. Notably, our Heatherwood site hosts a nationally recognised High Volume Low Complexity (HVLC) cataract surgery centre.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Senior Nursing Team, Service Managers, Orthoptic Lead, Ophthalmology Consultants, and the wider multidisciplinary team. Their primary focus will be to ensure consistent, high-quality patient care and to support and develop the nursing workforce to uphold and exceed world-class standards of care and patient experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for a registered nurse with extensive ophthalmology experience including advanced ophthalmic nursing practice to work strategically within a busy and complex Trust.
The successful candidate will have specific clinical sessions within the ophthalmology service as well as time to lead and assist in the development of the wider ophthalmology service.
We are looking for someone with a passion for quality improvement who, through strong leadership, can deliver the strategic objectives of the speciality.
