Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Matron to join our Primary Care team at HMP Huntercombe, a category C men's prison, located near Nuffield in Oxfordshire.
In this role you will have the opportunity to provide the highest standards of healthcare to our patients, without having to compromise on efficiency and quality.
There will be an expectation for the successful candidate to provide clinical leadership and manage the prison as cover.
Hours
37.5 hours (Monday-Friday)
08:00am-16:00pm
Expectation to be on call once a quarter
Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to 59,677 per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Clinical Matron, your responsibilities will vary. You will
  • Be responsible for providing the day-to-day clinical and operational management of the primary care team across an integrated healthcare service, contributing to the strategic direction of the service.
  • You will support your team to carry out comprehensive assessments, confidently communicating treatment options, and initiating supportive care plans, working with individuals on a 1-2-1 basis alongside the wider multi-disciplinary team.
  • There will be an expectation for the post holder to lead/contribute to clinical and consumer audits. You'll be responsible to the Head of Healthcare, to ensure the management of the service meets its contractual obligations.
  • This is a leadership role and with your team leaders, you will model a culture of compassion, courage, and competence. The role will include providing challenge, support, and mentorship at the point of delivery, drawing the best from our staff, and improving the quality of care for our services.
