Marie Curie is the UK's leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness they're likely to die from.


The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life. Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.

We have a full-time vacancy for a

Clinical Nurse Manager

to join our team in Devon. This is a homeworking role with expectations to travel across the region as required, including visits to services and local offices. You'll need to have provisions in place to work effectively from home while remaining flexible to meet service needs.


As a Clinical Nurse Manager, you will provide strategic and clinical leadership to a locally defined team within the Marie Curie Nursing Service. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring high-quality palliative care is delivered in the community, supporting patients to remain in their place of choice. You will oversee service development, workforce planning, and quality assurance, while also managing safeguarding investigations and clinical incidents.


This is a senior managerial position with significant scope for professional development. You'll collaborate with commissioners, GPs, hospices, and other stakeholders to shape services and identify growth opportunities. We're looking for someone who is passionate about innovative approaches to end-of-life care and eager to contribute to continuous improvement within a forward-thinking charity.

Hours:

37.5 hours per week (Between the hours of 08:00-18:00)

Full-time Permanent

Location:

Home working with some office requirement

Salary:

47,810 - 54,710 per annum (pro rata), in line with NHS Agenda for Change (AFC). Plus, full range of Marie Curie benefits, including enhancements for out of hours working.

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

Registered Nurse on NMC Register Relevant Nursing Degree Recent experience in health setting and management of nursing/ clinical teams Experience caring for patients with palliative care needs (hospice/hospital/community) Up to date knowledge of current palliative care issues Able to plan, delegate, schedule and prioritise own workload and that of others, within a changing environment Excellent interpersonal and team working skills, e.g. negotiating, persuasion and coaching Ability to remain calm under pressure Willingness to travel & occasionally make overnight stays
