About the Role
As a
Clinical Nurse Specialist
, you will be a key practitioner within the Children and Young People's Mental Health Service, using your
clinical expertise and leadership skills
to enhance service delivery and support the professional development of others. You will provide
supervision
to members of the nursing team within
West Cornwall CAMHS
, promoting best practice and professional growth.
You will play an active role in the delivery of
evidence-based interventions
for children, young people, and families, with a particular focus on
risk and crisis management
through coordination of our
Getting Risk Support
care pathway.
In addition, you will:
Lead the
nursing provision within the Integrated Care Area (ICA)
, working alongside the Lead Psychologist and fellow Clinical Nurse Specialists to ensure cohesive and effective service delivery.
Manage a
personal caseload
from referral through to discharge, undertaking both routine and high-priority assessments and interventions, and exercising a high degree of clinical autonomy.
Contribute to
multi-disciplinary team working
, service development, and governance activities including
research, audit, and quality improvement
initiatives.
Provide
consultation, advice, and liaison
to colleagues and external agencies to promote coordinated, high-quality care.

Essential criteria
Current Professional Registration with the NMC/HCPC
Professional qualification - RMN, RNC
Post graduate qualification to Master's level in relevant clinical specialism or equivalent experience

Experience
Essential criteria
Substantial experience working within Mental Health
Evidence of training and experience in the delivery of evidenced - based interventions for children, young people and their families
Extensive experience of working with children and adolescents with mental health or emotional difficulties
Experience and confident in the delivery of presentation and training delivery in own specialist area
Experience in supervising others.
Desirable criteria
Qualification in teaching and assessing learners - desirable.
