Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist Team as a Band 6 Oncology CNS. There are 2 x WTE equivalent posts available.



Primarily the successful candidates will be supporting oncology clinics happening within Carmarthenshire (Prince Philip Hospital and Glangwili Hospital). The base is to be decided with whomever is successfully appointed.



The areas of speciality include colorectal, urology, lung and Upper-GI. Occasionally the appointed person may be asked to support other oncology clinics across the Health board.



These new posts will work closely and have support from CNSs already within the Team.



The main focus of this role will be to provide support to patients attending Oncology clinics in Carmarthenshire.



With other members of the Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the care of a designated group of patients.



Once competencies are achieved the post holder will be required to undertake reviews with patients receiving systemic anti cancer treatments.



The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Two integrated care centres:

Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings

47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97

community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers

Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services
