Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Spinal Deformity Service for a band 7 lead Spinal Deformity Clinical Nurse Specialist.



Are you enthusiastic and motivated to lead a team and a nurse led element of the service alongside the Spinal Deformity Consultants? Have you got a specialist interest in spinal deformity and a drive to improve the patient experience? This role may be for you.

The main responsibilities for the post holder include:



Supporting both adult and paediatric patients through spinal deformity surgery



Pre-assessment of paediatric spinal deformity patients and ensuring pre-optimisation for surgery to ensure the best outcome.



Nurse-led clinics including telephone clinics



Orthotic brace clinics



Providing specialist education to nurses and allied healthcare professionals involved with the care of spinal deformity patients



Contributing to and provide specialist nursing input to MDT meetings including discussions about patients with complex medical / care needs
