We are looking for a

Clinical Psychologist

to join our Psychology in Schools team (currently made up of 4 clinical psychologists, 1 senior psychotherapist, 1 assistant psychologist, trainee clinical psychologist) who are currently working with the Under 18 Wellbeing Service to deliver an early intervention "Getting Help" service for young people (0 to 18) presenting with a mild to moderate mental health need. This role will provide opportunities to develop leadership and service development skills as you will be joining us at an exciting time as we grow and develop an early intervention service alongside the Suffolk MHST and U18 Wellbeing Team that fits with the iThrive model. This is a three day a week post. We welcome applications from Psychologists currently banded at 8a as well as those looking for a preceptorship role. We are committed to supporting your professional development and transition into the new role.



You will join a team of other clinical psychologists, psychological therapists , primary mental health workers, mental health nurses and CWPs. You will work closely with the Mental Health Support Teams and have opportunities to build strong relationships with our secondary care teams, including our neurodevelopmental teams. You will also be part of a wider network of psychological practitioners in the community. Psychologists are truly valued in Suffolk, by team colleagues and senior management alike.


Main duties of the job




To support clinical team working, including direct interventions with service users, and offering consultation to colleagues, training, supervision and reflective practice as required. Together with the Clinical Team Leaders and Senior psychology colleagues in the wider system to develop the offer of psychologically informed interventions to service users with mild to moderate mental health difficulties and to develop initiatives to improve service user experience. To support the early intervention service in meeting the needs of young people across the spectrum of neurodiversity. This post will involve developing and delivering a neurodevelopmental parent workshop programme. To work with internal and external agencies to enhance treatment pathways for service users. To supervise Assistant and trainee Psychologists, as directed by the Lead Psychologist.

You will be based in East Suffolk. The post will require at times covering West and Central Suffolk. Therefore there will be some need to travel when necessary.

Qualifications




Essential criteria




Supervisor training, to be a supervisor of doctoral programme clinical psychology trainees or willing to undertake training Post-graduate degree (or its equivalent if trained prior to 1996) in clinical psychology, accredited by BPS Ongoing further specialist training/accredited short courses #

Experience




Essential criteria




Experience working as a qualified clinical psychologist (Band 7) and able to evidence appropriate knowledge and experience in practice to enable the post holder to clinically supervise trainee clinical psychologist Experience of working with a range of complex and challenging behaviours and exercising full clinical responsibility for psycholog

Desirable criteria




Experience of clinical work in a setting relevant to the post
