Role Introduction
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a band 7 Clinical Psychologist to be part of the Community Neurological Rehabilitation Service (CNRS) on a Fixed term basis.
We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about working with people who have neurological conditions. The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working with clients with neurological disability across a range of conditions, such as traumatic brain injury, stroke and multiple sclerosis, within a multi-disciplinary team context. Previous experience of neuropsychological assessment is essential and experience of assessing risk, safeguarding and capacity, and developing appropriate formulations and interventions is also required.
The Community Neurology Rehabilitation Team accepts city-wide referrals for all neurological conditions for service users aged 16 years and above and caters for the functional, cognitive, psychological and physical needs of clients. The service also aims to meet the related needs of families and their carers.
The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing high quality services for people with neurological conditions. We are a supportive team, committed to supervision, continuing professional development and evidence-based practice. We are looking for someone who shares our enthusiasm for neuro/psychological thinking and demonstrates initiative, integrity, reflective practice and is an excellent team player.
There will be opportunities for teaching and training of other staff, as well as possible clinical supervision of assistants. There is also considerable scope to contribute development of the service and build further connections with other related services and academic institutions.
The post holder requires doctoral level training in clinical psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS; and, doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, research design and complex, multivariate data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of psychology.
Eligibility for Chartered status with the BPS and registration with the HCPC is essential.
The role is fixed term for 12 Months. 30 hours per week.
