We are looking for somebody to work with a brain injured person (Client) who is about to undertake one of our rehabilitation programs.
HOW IT WORKS

are responsible for providing rehabilitation for clients who have suffered an acquired brain injury, typically from a car accident. The rehabilitation program takes place in the client's home and community where you would work with them. Your role is to encourage the client to work on the tasks identified by an Neuro-Occupational Therapist which will help the client improve their quality of life.
HOURS
It will be 2 sessions a week that are approximately 2-3 hours during the weekdays. Occasionally, a session may be held virtually if schedules don't align. Typically, one session will take place at home, and the other may be community-based.
SALARY
From 14.00 per hour plus holiday pay of 12.07%, and travel allowance
DUTIES
To help restore the client to the best possible quality of life in the areas covered by a rehabilitation plan.
The activities will vary widely from client to client. Typical activities are teaching memory strategies, relearning household tasks, rediscovering leisure activities, preparing to return to work.
Comply with the precise specifications set-out by the plan.
Keep daily records.
Maintain absolute confidentiality.
A background working with people with a disability, in a care setting, in clinical, sports or vocational rehabilitation, or in education is desirable, however people with the right aptitude to assist other people in a professional way will be considered - your work will be supervised and guided on a weekly basis by a Neuro-Occupational Therapist (virtually or in person) who designs the rehabilitation program and will deliver the goals of the program on a 1:1 basis with the client.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
Able to work well with people, individually and in a team.
Positive approach to managing challenging situations.
Ability to write observations clearly for clinical note keeping.
Flexible and adaptable.
DESIRABLE SKILLS
A background working with people with a disability, in a care setting, in clinical or vocational rehabilitation, or in education
Experience working with Microsoft Office.
Ability to prioritise.
Able to use initiative.
Good verbal skills.
Time management skills.
A car driver with access to a vehicle.
