to join our team. The postholder will work with our lead research GP Partner and practice manager to provide administrative management of our busy research portfolio. Additionally, the postholder will oversee and coordinate all administration tasks related to GP trainees' placements. Liaise with trainee education bodies, support GP trainers, and ensuring training requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Research Support
Study Coordination: Assist in the identification, setup, administration, and monitoring of clinical trials (including those from the NIHR portfolio and wider commercial sectors) including liaising with research nurses, sponsors, and external partners.
Data & Documentation Management: Accurately administer clinical trial data in compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), standard operating procedures (SOPs), and relevant regulations. Manage study documentation and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements including liaising with the Data Protection Officer (DPO) if needed.
Participant Engagement: Serve as the initial point of contact for research participants, providing information and support throughout their involvement in studies.
Administrative support: Providing general administrative assistance such as coordinating meetings, document management and ordering any specimen sample pots, stationary or equipment that the study may require.
Trainee Administrator
Rota management and coordination: Coordinate all trainees' placements and future mapping.
Maintain all aspects of the trainee timetables and rotas ensuring this is compliant with guidance set by the Deanery and Universities.
Communication: Communicate any changes in practice. Work closely alongside the Rota coordinator, Room administrator, GP trainers and external Educations organisations to ensure the smooth planning of trainee placements.
Leadership: Act as the main key contact for all trainee placements. Resolve any ongoing trainee queries.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with training, governance and confidentiality.
Provide general administrative support as required.
Assist with arranging trainee monthly meetings, tutorials and reviews.
Record attendance / annual leave for all trainee placements.
Person Specification
Essential:
Experience in research administration and/ or digital transformation
Proficiency in data management and analysis, with a strong understanding of data protection and confidentiality.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Excellent organisational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Proficiency in IT systems and software particularly EMIS and Excel
Desirable:
Formal qualification/ credentials relating to research or data processes
Certification in Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
Advanced Excel skills (eg pivot tables, vlookups etc)
Advanced EMIS skills (eg creating Protocols & Templates & rotas)
Rota management
Previous NHS experience
Knowledge of GP trainee structures.
