The Applied Computational Psychiatry lab is a multidisciplinary laboratory which is part of the Mental Health Neuroscience Department in the Division of Psychiatry; and the Max-Planck UCL Centre for Computational Psychiatry and Ageing Research in the Department of Imaging Neuroscience in the Institute of Neurology. The lab has close links with the North London Foundation Trust, which is a major provider of mental health care in North London, and Noclor, which coordinates research throughout North London. The lab is also closely aligned with the new North London Mood Disorders Research Clinic which facilitates clinical trials in mood disorders and integrates with mood disorder researchers and clinicians throughout the UK.
About the role
------------------
The postholder will be an academic clinician. They will undertake high quality research and produce high-impact publications as part of a research project examining maladaptive thinking patterns in depression relapse by combining computational modelling and magnetoencephalography (MEG). Main duties involve administering a dietary intervention to patients with a history of depression; managing symptomatic relapse and clinical safety; developing tasks and computational analyses for use with MEG to probe how internal representations and interpretations driving decisions and emotional states evolve at a high temporal resolution.

The post is offered at Grade 7, the annual salary for which ranges from 49,636 to 78,670 (including London Allowance).
The appointment is available from now and is funded for 1 year, to be renewed for up to 3 years.

About you

To conduct behavioural and MEG research, acquire data, conduct analyses and prepare the research project detailed above for publication.
To take on clinical management of study participants, including individuals with mental illnesses such as depression and with suicidality.
To collaborate with post-doctoral scientists, research assistants and PhD students within the group, division and within the wider UCL community.
