Job Description

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Combined Services Manager to join our team in Portsmouth, leading our Prosthetic and Orthotic services across the Hampshire region. This is a pivotal leadership role, where you'll oversee the delivery of integrated clinical, technical, and administrative services.
Main duties of the job

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, technicians and administrators to deliver a responsive, high quality service
  • Collaborate with the wider team of consultants, physios, OTs, nurses, and counsellors to ensure coordinated care
  • Maintain robust quality governance, including CQC compliance and safeguarding responsibilities
  • Build relationships with NHS England and local commissioners, and report on performance against KPIs
  • Oversee operations across outpatient and visiting clinics, including technical manufacturing and stock management
  • Promote a culture of development, feedback, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure policy, pathway, and procedural updates are implemented effectively

Job responsibilities
Patient Services
Provide an appropriate and evidence based Prosthetic service to patients using your Centre. Ensure that packages of Prosthetic care are agreed by the Patient, are affordable to the NHS and meet the commercial needs of the Company. Ensure that packages of Prosthetic care have proper management and clinical controls attached to stand the test of best practice scrutiny. NHS Partnership
Develop and maintain a partnership relationship with your NHS centre management. Ensure the relationship is based upon mutual respect and meets the financial and service needs of the NHS. Company Responsibilities
Ensure that the service provided by your centre contributes to the profitability and sustainability of the Company. Ensure all reporting requirements are met in a timely way. Ensure that, wherever possible, Company products are used. Ensure you contribute to the management and financial planning and target setting process.
Personnel
Provide leadership and supervision, on a day-to-day basis, for all the staff under your control. Ensure CPD programmes are in place and fulfilled, all staff have an appraisal/ PDR annually and a review at the midpoint, and that discipline and satisfactory standards of conduct and performance are maintained.
Ensure training, development of skills and supervision needs of staff are set to meet the needs of the business and people and are agreed and delivered for all your staff.
Production and Limb Repair
Ensure, with your Workshop Manager, the efficient and effective use of the workshop and the workshop staff in delivering a right first time production performance. Ensure Technicians are technically and managerially well supported.
Stores & Stock Management
Ensure, with your Workshop Manager, that inventory, WIP and patient stock is managed within target. Ensure inventory is managed to optimally support the Centres production requirements. Ensure stock audit and monitoring as carried out as required.
Administration
Ensure maintenance of patient records. Submit details of employee attendance and statistical returns to Head Office as required. Liaise with NHS personnel with regard to patient appointments, invoicing, order progress etc. Overall responsibility in the Centre for compliance with the company quality management system - ISO 9002.
Premises
Ensure premises and all facilities are operating in a safe and efficient manner and are fit for purpose.
General
The postholder will need to be flexible in their approach, undertaking, as necessary, any other duties appropriate to the position. Due to the nature of your role, it may be necessary to work to time constraints and tight deadlines. This may require you to work beyond your contracted hours and on weekends from time to time. This is a senior post and, as such, is not eligible for overtime payment.
Some information handled within this post will be strictly confidential and must be treated as such. The post holder will be required to promote a positive image of the Company and work with discretion at all times.
Peer support for this role is provided through regular team meetings along with individual support from your manager. You are expected to attend the majority of meetings through the year and may be asked to attend and contribute to other industry and company events at various locations. Job description
