We are seeking to appoint a skilled and enthusiastic Lab Technician to join our postgraduate
course delivery team. The post holder will play a vital role in the provision of high-quality
learning for surgical trainees using a variety of resources such as animal tissue, synthetic
task trainers and medium fidelity manikins. You will be required to look after equipment, set
up/set down courses, assist with basic administrative tasks and work closely with our
teaching faculty throughout course delivery.
We are looking for a candidate who has:
A genuine interest in pursuing a career within the clinical skills and simulation sector
and commitment to undertaking the necessary CPD to achieve mastery of your role.
NVQ level 3 or higher, ideally a BSc in a Biomedical Science subject.
Experience of working in a laboratory environment, healthcare or educational setting
and understanding of health and safety in labs. Previous experience in a clinical
skills and simulation role would be an advantage but is not essential.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver a customer focused service.
Ability to work flexibly, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
Excellent organisational skills and methodical approach to work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, with
a willingness to embrace other apps within the Office 365 environment (eg Sway,
Power Automate, Bookings, Shifts etc).
