Main duties of the job In addition to the below summary, you\xe2\x80\x99ll need to familiarise yourself with full and Person Specification documents attached to this advert. You will work alongside the nurses, assisting in admitting our patients, caring for our confused and acutely ill patients and assisting with activities of daily living and providing support to patients and relatives. You will need to be able to assess, plan, deliver, prioritise and evaluate patient care. As well as working alongside our doctors and multi-disciplinary team in undertaking cannulation, venepuncture and ECG\xe2\x80\x99s, Manual handling and using medical devices.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities The post holder works as part of the D57 team providing clinical support to medical and nursing staff. The support worker will be responsible for providing venepuncture, cannulation and ECG recording within these units. You will need to have completed your venepuncture and ECG packages, and provide evidence thereof. The post holder will be required to prioritise and manage their own workload within a dynamic and busy environment. The post holder will also undertake other nursing duties, which will include direct patient care, in support of and under the supervision of a registered nurse as well as some training and supporting of staff Work as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team.

  • Good basic level of secondary school education
  • NVQ/Diploma Qualification level 2/3 in a Care related subject or equivalent
