We have an exciting opportunity to join our fantastic wards based in Suffolk, we are looking for Band 3 Clinical Support Workers that are passionate about recovery led care with a focus on promoting least restrictive practice in Suffolk.



This role will be a unique opportunity to work across three of our Wedgwood wards on a rotation. You will be working across our two adult inpatient wards, Southgate and Northgate, as well as Abbeygate our older people inpatient ward.

Main duties of the job




You will need to be enthusiastic and conscientious and do everything you can to provide the best care to our service users. We are looking for someone who displays compassion, empathy and is sensitive in their approach to people who may be distressed or have a challenging manner.



Our primary focus is on collaborative working; placing great emphasis on the assessment/recovery model by using assessment tools relating to service user recovery and the philosophy that underpins patient centred care.



For this role, your duties will include:


Spending 1:1 time with service users Providing direct patient care such as personal care and promoting activities of daily living Having a good understanding of mental health diagnoses and presentation including appropriate boundaries Undertaking therapeutic observations of all service users
Supporting service users on a 1:1 basis who may require varying levels of support
Undertaking physical management of violence and aggression training to manage challenging situations Undertaking physical health observations and COVID swabbing Taking service users on leave in the community Working with families and carers Providing cross departmental working within the acute pathway as required.

You will be provided with a fully supported induction programme and will be offered a programme of training and development should you wish to progress.



Our staff support network includes protected time, wellbeing sessions and regular supervision.

Please ensure that this is completed within the set time scale.


This update service is an annual subscription at a cost of 16 to you. This will enable the Trust to have instant online access to your DBS record, with your consent, and so will remove the need for you to have to apply for this repeat check again.
