We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Teaching Fellow to join the team, supporting postgraduate training in the HEETV School of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and the undergraduate women's and reproductive health module at Oxford Medical School. This role allows you to extend your clinical training with reduced hours to focus on developing your skills in medical education, a key competency recognised by the GMC.
You will work closely with course tutors and college tutors to deliver classroom teaching, tutorials, organise assessments, develop detailed curriculums, and evaluate teaching and training. You will also contribute to multi-professional learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. During your 12-month post, you will lead a specific project aimed at enhancing teaching and training, such as developing a teaching clinic, creating multi-professional training resources, expanding patient engagement in teaching, or designing a programme on sustainable healthcare in O&G.
As a fully-registered doctor training in HEETV towards CCT or CESR in O&G or CSRH, or a doctor who has completed foundation training and is applying to specialty training, you can apply. The role is flexible, welcoming part-time or job-sharing arrangements, and your timetable will balance clinical duties with teaching responsibilities. You will continue clinical work in your training centre, participate in on-call rotas, and dedicate about one to two days per week to teaching activities.
Your teaching duties will include delivering lectures and tutorials, organising assessments, supporting students, participating in formative and summative assessments, attending meetings, collaborating with educators, and developing innovative training projects. You will regularly meet with the course organiser to tailor your activities to course needs. Additionally, you will attend medical education conferences, present departmental work, gather and analyse feedback, and adjust course content accordingly.
This role is ideal if you want to develop a career in medical education, with encouragement to pursue teaching qualifications and professional development opportunities. Join this dynamic team to make a meaningful impact on medical training and education.
To apply for this role, you must be fully registered with the GMC and currently working in HEETV within the school of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (O&G), progressing towards CCT or CESR in O&G or CSRH, or have completed foundation training in HEETV and be applying to specialty training in O&G or CSRH. You should have clinical experience in women's health, a strong interest and commitment to medical education, a positive outlook, and the ability to contribute to and thrive within a multi-professional team. It is also advantageous, though not essential, if you have experience teaching undergraduates and postgraduates in clinical settings, demonstrate flexibility and problem-solving skills, can create a positive learning environment, and have the capacity to reflect on your own and others' experiences.
Applications for flexible working arrangements are welcomed and will be considered in line with business needs.
You will be required to upload a CV and Supporting Statement as part of your online application. Go to https://www.jobs.ox.ac.uk/cv-and-supporting-statement for information and advice on writing an effective Supporting Statement.

The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Monday 13th October 2025. Interviews are expected to take place on Wednesday 22nd October 2025.
