Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our dynamic and committed team on Willows PICU at Highbury Hospital. The Willows is a 9 bedded male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit designed to safely contain patients who are acutely unwell with a variety of mental health conditions.



Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience of working in Mental Health, have a good understanding of risk and have an ability to work in a flexible manner to meet the demands and needs of the service. In addition to this a successful applicant must have:



Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills The ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team Have a strong knowledge base of an inpatient service Be committed to providing the highest standards of care An active role in the management of the ward including appraisals, PADs, debriefs, staff support, clinical decision making & therapeutic risk taking. Experience in completing audits

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is 26.40 (standard) or 54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.



You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of 16 per year applies.
