Job description

The King\'s Health Partners Clinical Trials Office is a collaboration between King\'s College London, Guy\'s and St Thomas\' NHS Foundation Trust, King\'s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. It is set up to provide a single interface for those wishing to conduct clinical trials within the partner organisations, and to ensure that there are common, efficient processes for the set up and administration of clinical trials.

This post will be offered on an a fixed-term contract for 12 months

This is a full-time post

Key responsibilities

  • To manage expressions of interest process for commercial trials submitted through the NIHR Clinical Research Network
  • To communicate effectively with Commercial Companies, giving accurate, clear advice on feasibility and commercial trial pathway
  • Communicate with investigators and support departments to ensure they are aware of the service and can make the best use of it.
  • To conduct feasibility assessments across a broad range of therapeutic areas
  • To ensure feasibility assessments are conducted robustly to Kings Health Partner\'s SOP
  • To contribute to the set up and maintenance of robust systems and processes for manging feasibility reviews
  • To be responsible for the efficient management of the feasibility shared mailbox
  • To maintain a working knowledge of prevailing regulations, guidance, best practices and GCP standards regarding the conduct of clinical trials
  • To ensure internal databases are up-to-date to track trial status and relevant information.
  • To contribute to the mapping of commercial research capabilities across Partner Organisations to enable growth of commercial trials activity
  • Collate and analyse recruitment performance in the context of feasibility outcomes to inform future feasibility conduct.
  • Produce and collate feasibility metrics to Senior Clinical Trials Feasibility Associate and Commercial Trials Manager.
The above list of responsibilities may not be exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.

Skills, knowledge, and experience

**Essential criteria ** * Educated to degree level or possess equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience of commercial trial set up
  • Knowledge of the regulatory requirements for clinical trials and GCP
  • Knowledge and understanding of the commercial trial feasibility process
  • Strong computer skills (proficient with MS Word, Excel and Web-based applications).
  • Ability to work to SOPs
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical, scientific and/ or research terminology
  • Demonstrably high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills
  • Self-starting and able to work largely unsupervised
Desirable criteria * Knowledge and experience of the commercial/ business environment clinical trials are conducted within
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - tactful and being able to deal with a wide range of people in an enthusiastic and helpful manner whilst being capable of firmly maintaining policies and regulations
  • Experience delivery clinical trial feasibilities
