An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic and supportive Pharmacy Clinical Trials team at Whittington Health.
In this role, you will play a key part in the delivery and management of clinical trials, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and relevant regulatory standards. This is an ideal position for someone with strong attention to detail, organisational and interpersonal skills who is looking to make a real impact in a research-focused environment.
You will be part of a collaborative team that works closely with pharmacy colleagues and multi-disciplinary teams across the Trust and wider region. As part of a forward-thinking and diverse pharmacy department, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing service improvements and support the expansion of research activity across the Trust.

Support the management of clinical pharmacy services at Whittington Health.
Be responsible for Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) management, including receipt, dispensing, handing out, returns, temperature excursion reports, and any other activities deemed appropriate by the Clinical Trials Specialist Pharmacist.
Ensure that IMPs for clinical trials are managed according to regulatory requirements, standard operating procedures and Good Clinical Practice.
Develop and review departmental clinical trial work and standard operating procedures.
Identify and manage risks associated with the use of IMPs in clinical trials.
Work with members of the Pharmacy Clinical Trials Team and Research and Development (R&D) team to review and assess operational and clinical resources needed to open and run clinical trials.
Attend site initiation visits, sponsor monitoring visits, and close out visits.
Support the Aseptic team in the management of Oncology, Haematology and other clinical trials related to their clinical areas.
Formulate and recover pharmacy charges for clinical trials.
Support gathering and reporting of KPI information for benchmarking and identify any variations or concerns for discussion with Pharmacy Senior Team and R&D Team.
Provide written and oral information to patients regarding how and when they should take medications as part of a clinical trial protocol.
