We are looking to bring a Cloud FinOps Specialist into our FinOps team. The team are responsible for ensuring Tribal's Cloud is cost and carbon efficient, proactively monitoring cloud spend and collaborating with technical teams to identify and deliver on optimisation opportunities over our full Tribal Cloud platform and product suite.



This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a real measurable impact day-to-day, with plenty of scope for on-the-job training including funded pathways to relevant certifications.



The role is fully remote, however there will be opportunities to travel regionally for team meetings - typically no more than once per quarter.



The Role



As the Cloud FinOps Specialist, you will act as the bridge between engineering teams such as Platform Engineering and SRE and non-engineering teams such as Commercial Finance and Sales, balancing complex technical requirements with the financial objectives of the business.



Your focus will be to monitor and analyse cloud spend, identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities in close collaboration with Platform Engineering, SRE, DBAs and Technical Consultants. The Cloud FinOps team creates a culture of accountable cloud spend, where minimising cloud wastage is a shared responsibility for all Tribal's teams, in alignment with the Well-Architected Framework.



Your responsibilities will include:



Optimising Tribal's cloud environments, spanning AWS and Azure, by identifying and reducing any unnecessary resource and spend.

Promote Financial Accountability by helping the technical teams understand and take ownership of their cloud usage and costs.

Taking responsibility for our customers' cloud pricing, using FinOps-maintained commercial models, and working closely with Platform Architecture to update these as new designs are introduced.

Collaborate with Tribal's finance team to help with forecasting hosting costs.

Utilise cloud-native billing analytics platforms as well as 3rd party tools such as CloudHealth to monitor cloud usage trends and identify areas for cost reduction.



Support internal stakeholders to deliver effective cloud financial management.



The skills you'll need:



AWS / Azure - Cloud based experience

Excellent analytical and communication skills

Experience using CloudHealth or similar.

Confident working with both technical and financial teams.

Experience presenting data-backed insights to stakeholders.



It would be great if you had:



FinOps or AWS Certification (foundational level). Don't worry if you don't hold this, resource and time can be provided to obtain this certification.

Working in a Cloud FinOps environment, or knowledge of FinOps principles.

Experience with complex Cloud Pricing Models.
