Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Management Services Department

The Bermuda Monetary Authority (Authority or BMA) is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join the Infrastructure and Support Team in our Management Services Department. Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for enhancing operational efficiency, implementing security efficiency in the Microsoft Azure and Windows environments and providing support when required.


This is a key role for the Authority and the post-holder will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner and serving as the primary point of contact for all Tier 2 technical support requests Configuring and managing the Microsoft Azure environment in alignment with the BMA's requirements and industry best practices Providing recommendations for Microsoft Azure configuration changes that enhance efficiency and productivity while mitigating risk Maintaining, upgrading and managing the BMA's software, hardware and networks Monitoring performance and maintaining the BMA's systems according to requirements Promoting and implementing security measures and practices within the Microsoft Azure environment Contributing to cloud strategy discussions and decisions, on topics such as execution, selection or procurement of cloud technology Collaborating with internal departments to detect changes to cloud-based systems used within the Authority Performing other related work and special projects as assigned by management in accordance with competencies normally associated with the post

This position requires a proven technical and business background. Therefore, the post-holder should have:

A master's degree in computer science, Information Technology (IT), or a related field or a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field and certifications in both Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate and Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in IT infrastructure support, of which at least three (3) years should be at a senior IT infrastructure support level working within a financial services business CompTIA Security+ and Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certifications are preferred Extensive working knowledge in cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure and Windows environments Extensive working knowledge of systems infrastructure and network architecture Working experience with Microsoft Purview Familiarity or experience with Open AI and Copilot is a plus Strong communication skills, both verbal and written and ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and collaborate with others
