Cloud Platform Manager - AWS, Azure, Developer Tooling, Developer Experience, DevOps, CI/CD, Retail Banking, Digital Banking, Platform Engineering, Product Management
A leading UK Digital Banking organisation are seeking a talented individual experienced in building and maintaining cloud platforms and developer tooling to take ownership of their inhouse Cloud and DevEx team, who provide cloud/technical solutions as products to the business and wider engineering teams.
The role is broadly split into three core parts:

• Roadmapping and strategy - being able to quickly enmesh themselves in the current cloud platform, understand how the business currently utilises it and how to move it forward from a product perspective
• People management - direct line management of a team of 5 DevOps/DevEx generalists
• Technical Leadership - being able to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in with the team, unblocking complex technical challenges, running scrum sessions, prioritising deliverables etc.

The existing cloud platform is built exclusively on AWS, but with a plan to move to a hybrid setup with Azure and so you will need to bring experience of both, being able to lead the team through the adoption & setup of Azure.
You will also need to come from a software engineering background demonstrating expertise across Developer Experience more broadly, as the platform is responsible for all software engineering CI/CD, their GitHub repository and other services.
In addition to this, the team are also responsible for the development of core products that can be utilised across the business, such as a standardised data ingestion and distribution exchange for engaging with 3rd party data providers.
Finally, you will also be a proponent of agile practises and clean, well-documented engineering, supporting auditability and efficient delivery of software into the cloud estate.
