HEALTH CLUB MANAGER FOR CLUB MANAGER AT BOW GREEN



SUMMARY:



As Club Manager at our client's exclusive residential development in east London, you will oversee the daily operations of the Bow Green Residential Health Club, comprising a new build wellness space featuring a gym, functional area, treatments rooms, boxing ring a leisure pool and outdoor vitality pool.

You'll lead and develop a dedicated team of Duty Managers, overseeing everything from faultless daily operations and personalised member support to safety standards, equipment management, and poolside operations. With the freedom to design a dynamic calendar of resident activities - think sunrise yoga, expert-led workshops, fitness challenges, nutrition talks, and masterclasses on the bespoke boxing ring and more -- you'll ensure every day feels energising, engaging, and memorable for members.

You will have responsibility for ensuring the highest levels of safety, service excellence, and community engagement. Reporting directly to one of our Regional Operations Managers, you will lead a team of up to three duty managers, coordinating poolside safety, fitness propositions and on the floor classes, management of an on-site boxing ring, stock control, and event planning. Key Responsibilities:



General:



Exemplify professionalism in punctuality, appearance, and conduct at all times. Serve as the primary point of contact for resident enquiries, feedback, and incident resolution. Uphold and reinforce our core values of Excellence, Accountability, Integrity, and Teamwork. Deliver exceptional, personalised service and anticipate residents' needs. Ensure all SOPs for cleanliness, hygiene, and luxury standards are consistently followed. Lead by example in showing a positive, proactive attitude and enthusiasm.

Operations:



Oversee all day-to-day Health Club operations, including opening/closing procedures and facility walk-throughs. Manage the gym and pool area's safety protocols: supervise and support the rota, enforce gym and spa rules, and oversee the conducting of water-quality testing. Handle stock control: perform regular stock takes, place orders, receive deliveries, and reconcile invoices. Administer the payment system and ensure accurate financial reporting. Coordinate bookings and logistics for the treatment rooms as well as bookings for classes and wellness events. Manage personal training providing targets for the team to generate revenue. Maintain the appearance and readiness of all public areas via scheduled inspections and prompt follow-ups.

Customer Experience & Community Building:



Design and curate a calendar of social and wellness events (e.g., sunset yoga, sound healing, boxing masterclasses) to foster community spirit. Oversee enquiries and bookings for both daily use and special events, ensuring flawless execution. Provide on-boarding induction tours and re-orientation to new and returning residents. Gather resident feedback to continuously enhance the Health Club experience. Coach and mentor Duty Managers in delivering warm welcomes, anticipating needs, and handling resident interactions with discretion and empathy.

Health & Safety:



Conduct and document opening/closing safety checks, pool/spa water tests, and facility inspections per schedule. (full training will be given) Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations (e.g., NPLQ, Pool Plant Operator standards). Act as Emergency Responder/First Aider when required, responding swiftly to incidents. Report accidents, near-misses, and defects to the Regional Operations Manager as well as Estate Management Team and follow through on corrective actions. Maintain thorough records of all safety checks and training sessions.

Training, Learning & Development:



Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of the Duty Managers and Personal Trainers. Organise and participate in regular training on service standards, safety procedures, and community-building techniques. Develop personal and team development plans Stay abreast of hospitality trends and share best practices with the team.

Skills and Experience



Must-haves:



Proven experience managing a health club and a team of duty managers. Strong supervisory skills with the ability to lead a small team. Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal abilities. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking under pressure. Proficiency with POS systems, stock-management software, and Microsoft Office. Demonstrable emotional intelligence and cultural awareness.

Desirable:



Experience in luxury health clubs, hospitality or high-end residential amenities. NPLQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification) or equivalent. Event planning or private dining coordination experience.

Remuneration



Competitive salary starting at 39k Additional income can be obtained by delivering Personal Training sessions to be conducted off shift. Eight-hour shifts, five days a week on a rolling rota (includes some weekend and evening shifts).
