Advanced Innovative Manufacturing (AIM) is a fast-growing precision engineering company delivering high-quality machined components to the aerospace and advanced engineering sectors. As we continue to expand our capabilities and prepare for AS9100D certification, we are seeking a highly skilled

CMM Programmer / Inspector

to strengthen our Quality function.

We are looking for a detail-driven Quality professional with hands-on experience in

CMM programming, inspection, and FAI report preparation

. The ideal candidate will take ownership of inspection processes, ensure compliance with customer and industry standards, and contribute to continuous improvement in our precision machining environment.

Key Responsibilities



Create, program, and run CMM inspection routines using

QCT Quantum 4

with

3D-Pro64

software. Produce and maintain

FAI Reports

(AS9102 Format) and comprehensive measurement documentation. Generate

bubble drawings

and digital inspection plans using

SolidWorks Inspection

. Conduct in-process, first-off, and final inspections using both CMM and a wide range of traditional metrology tools. Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and aerospace-grade quality requirements. Work closely with CNC machinists, production engineers, and quality teams to resolve dimensional issues. Maintain calibration and quality records in line with ISO9001 and AS9100D expectations. Support continuous improvement initiatives across the shop floor.

Required Skills & Experience



Proven experience as a

CMM Programmer / Inspector

within a precision machining or aerospace environment. Strong proficiency with

CMM programming

, ideally using

QCT 3D-Pro64

(training can be considered for candidates with strong transferable skills). Experience creating

FAI / AS9102 reports

and managing digital inspection workflows. Ability to use

SolidWorks Inspection

for bubble drawings and inspection documentation. Excellent understanding of

engineering drawings, GD&T

, tolerancing, and inspection methodologies. Comfortable using manual measurement tools including micrometres, height gauges, bore gauges, comparators, etc.

Hours and Environment



Thirty-eight hours a week, Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm (with a 30-minute lunch break). Fridays, 7:30 am to 11:30 am. Standard 21 days of annual leave plus statutory bank holidays.
