Job Description


The Post Office is seeking a highly skilled CMS Manager to join our Digital Delivery & Operations team. The CMS Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of our CMS (Magnolia) and editorial team to ensure brand positioning, customer experience and commercial objectives are delivered through our www.postoffice.co.uk website.

This is a role for someone who has proven prior experience in working through the upload and publishing of digital accessible content. You will also have a good understanding of HTML as you will be working closely with our digital user experience designers and development teams.

The CMS team works across the following, but not limited to:

  • Homepage campaigns
  • Adaptations
  • Product and campaign assets
  • Digital customer journeys
  • Articles
Principal Accountabilities
  • Lead and manage the CMS& editorial team
  • Responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the CMS
  • Develop and manage content workflows to ensure the timely publication of high-quality content
  • Train and support content executives and editors in the use of the CMS
  • Monitor CMS performance and work with the development team to optimise performance and system availability
  • Develop and implement CMS policies, ways of working and procedures
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices to ensure the CMS remains up to date and competitive
  • Ensure compliance of digital assets with appropriate regulation
  • Continuous support of content Post Office\'s online platforms (website and mobile apps)
  • Planning, scheduling, publishing and maintaining of content pages
  • Ensure there are robust history and documentation of published content changes
  • Work with various business departments to deliver web content (Marketing, SEO, Trading, Customer Experience, etc)
  • Work in collaboration with development and UXD teams to deliver customer experience change
  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee on-boarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
  • Empower employees to take responsibility for their role, objectives and own development. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
  • 3-4 years relevant experience in leading a CMS team
  • Prior experience working with an enterprise CMS platform
  • Organiser in high volume, fast turnaround, deadline driven environment
  • Experience as a content manager
  • Experience in stakeholder management
  • Editorial experience
  • Strong technical skills, including experience in HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A passion for digital trends
  • Experience in SEO guidelines and best practices
  • Experience in web analytics
  • Results oriented
  • Strong customer focus
  • Jira/Confluence/Figma experience
  • Web accessibility standards
