We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-precision components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and experience in various machining processes. The ideal applicant will demonstrate proficiency in CAD software, tooling, and hand tools, ensuring efficient production while adhering to safety standards and quality specifications.
Duties
Set up and operate CNC machines, including milling and grinding equipment, to produce complex parts according to technical drawings and specifications.
Interpret technical drawings and utilise CAD software such as SolidWorks to assist in programme development and modifications.
Perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery and troubleshoot issues to minimise downtime.
Utilise hand tools, power tools, and tooling to assemble components and perform precision adjustments.
Conduct inspections of machined parts using basic measurement tools to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Assist with plastics injection moulding processes when required, ensuring proper machine operation and product quality.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Collaborate with engineering teams on process improvements and new project setups.
Experience
Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or in a similar mechanical role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of milling, grinding, welding, and assembly processes.
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or equivalent for design interpretation and programme creation.
Familiarity with plastics injection moulding techniques is advantageous.
Ability to read technical drawings accurately and perform basic math calculations for measurements and tolerances.
Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and specialised machining equipment.
Mechanical knowledge combined with practical skills in tooling setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting is essential.
Previous exposure to working with plastics or similar materials is desirable but not mandatory.
