Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and reliable CNC Machinist to join our growing team in a busy subcontract workshop near Glasgow. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating CNC machines to produce high-quality precision parts. This role offers flexible shift patterns, including days only, nights only, or alternating shifts. You'll be working with state-of-the-art equipment and contributing to a variety of projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate CNC machines (Mazatrol, Fanuc controllers, or other systems). Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to ensure accurate machining. Produce high-quality components and ensure they meet required tolerances. Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot any issues to ensure smooth operation. Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges). Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC machines. Work closely with the production team to ensure efficient workflow. Adhere to health and safety standards in the workshop.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, with a focus on Mazatrol and/or Fanuc systems. Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Good knowledge of measurement tools and techniques. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills. High attention to detail and precision. Flexible and adaptable with regard to shift work.

Desirable Skills (Not Essential):

Experience with other CNC machine controllers (Siemens, Heidenhain, etc.). Previous experience in a subcontract machining environment.

Shift Patterns Available:

Days Only:

Monday to Friday (Standard working hours)

Nights Only:

Night shifts with premium pay

Alternating Shifts:

A rotation of day and night shifts for those seeking variety and flexibility.
