CNC Machinists Wanted: Shape Spacecraft Components That Actually Go to Space!
Location: Somewhere awesome in the UK, designing parts for rockets and satellites (no pressure)
Got ninja-level skills on 3 and 5 axis CNC machines? Love turning raw metal and composites into tiny works of aerospace art? Want your machining mojo to help build spacecraft that really leave the ground?
Welcome to your dream job.
What You'll Be Doing (Besides Looking Awesome at the Mill)
Programming and running 3 and 5 axis CNC machines like a boss (manual machining too, for those old school vibes)
Machining ultra-precise composite (hello carbon fibre!) and metallic parts that will one day blast off into space
Using Autodesk Power Mill, Feature Cam, or SolidWorks to turn CAD models into machine magic (training provided if you're still learning your way)
Teaming up with design and project engineers to hit deadlines and specs like a well-oiled machine
Attending peer reviews and team huddles to make sure designs can actually be made (spoiler alert: that's your job)
Occasionally performing manual machining to keep things interesting
What We're Looking For (AKA What Makes You Awesome)
A City & Guilds or Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or something similar (certificates included, please!)
CNC machining experience in a high precision, low volume environment (aerospace points if you have it)
Familiarity with Autodesk Power Mill, Feature Cam, SolidWorks or at least a solid "I want to learn" attitude
Sharp eye for detail because 0.01 mm errors won't fly here (literally)
A flexible, enthusiastic approach and the brains to solve problems on the fly
Good communication skills and a "team player" badge
Why You'll Love Working Here
You'll be making parts that literally help send spacecraft into orbit. No coffee cup prototypes here.
Work with a tight-knit team of engineers who geek out about machining and space (bonus points if you do too)
Get hands-on experience with industry-leading CAD/CAM software (and training to up your game)
Enjoy a workplace where your skills and ideas actually matter -- we want you to shine
And hey, you get to say you helped build spacecraft. How many people can say that?
Ready to take your CNC skills out of this world?
Click apply and let's make space stuff together!
