Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, proficiency with CAD software, and experience working with various hand and power tools. The ideal applicant will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working independently or as part of a team to meet production deadlines.

Duties

Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines for milling, grinding, and other machining processes Interpret technical drawings and specifications using CAD software such as SolidWorks Perform tooling changes and adjustments to ensure optimal machine performance Conduct quality checks on finished parts, ensuring adherence to specifications Assist with welding and assembly tasks as required Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety standards Utilise hand tools and power tools for minor repairs or adjustments to machinery and fixtures Support plastics injection moulding processes when necessary Apply basic maths skills for measurements, tolerances, and calculations during machining processes

Experience

Proven experience in CNC machining within a manufacturing environment Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks or similar programmes Hands-on knowledge of grinding, milling, and tooling techniques Mechanical knowledge related to machine maintenance and troubleshooting Experience with welding, plastics injection moulding, and assembly is advantageous Familiarity with the use of hand tools and power tools in a workshop setting Basic understanding of maths principles relevant to machining tasks (e.g., measurements, tolerances) Previous work involving the use of CAD for designing or interpreting technical drawings is desirable
