Job Description

Responsibilities:



Responsible for the machining of moulds and tooling for automated machinery for manufacture of lead acid batteries.

Producing programs using online conversational control / offline CAD/CAM.

To set, operate and program CNC machines with minimum supervision.

Editing and writing programs using Mazatrol and Heidenhain control or any other appropriate software when necessary.

Analysing and producing surfaces, add or delete surfaces.

Product Geometry 2D/3D to allow creation of cutter paths.

Keep up to date with modern tooling and machining techniques.

Be able to work from engineering drawings.

Be competent in the use of appropriate engineering tools such as micrometers and verniers.

Be able to work on own initiative to produce high quality engineered components, batch work & one offs using a range of materials.

Compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.

Keeps up to date with the latest manufacturing techniques.

Liaise with other TBS departments to ensure that the required information is available when needed and customer requests are dealt with in a timely manner.

To identify opportunities for process, productivity and quality improvements by highlighting issues to management.

Maintain general workshop housekeeping and machine maintenance.

To adhere to and always apply all workplace management and rules consistently.

To actively participate in improvement projects as required.

Develop effective relationships with all internal and external stakeholder, customers and suppliers to ensure best outcomes for TBS.

Ensure that all Company policies and procedures are adhered to within operations area including Berkshire Hathaway's ethical policies.

You may also be required to undertake additional tasks or duties from time to time and which are reasonably within your capabilities.

Person Specification:

Proven ability to understand engineering drawings.

CNC machining qualification or equivalent

Self-motivated and enthusiastic

Good communication skills, dealing with other employees and external clients at all levels.

Good team player.

Effective problem-solving capabilities.

Ability to work to tight deadlines.

Conversant with CAD/CAM - Mastercam (training will be given to suitable applicant).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 40,000.00-44,000.00 per year
