CNC Miller - What does the job involve?




The job involves the programming, setting and operating of CNC mills producing high value components across various industries. With the work being carried out in accordance with job card instructions and attendant stage drawings, customer specifications and in accordance with the company's quality system.

Hours of work:

39 hours per week.

Dayshift

- Monday to Thursday 6.45am to 3.30pm and Friday 7.00am to 1.00pm with 30-minute unpaid break for lunch

CNC Miller - What will my responsibilities include?'



Programming, setting and operating of CNC milling 3, 4 & 5 axis machines following set up sheets Ensuring that the methods, tooling, and fixtures used to effectively achieve a cost-effective quality product in accordance with the production requirements. Evaluate program blueprints to outline machine operations and dimensions In conjunction with the support team, develop standard work for NPI / modified products being introduced to the manufacturing area. Help move existing machining processes to other areas of the machine shop to aid production. Train and hand over machining processes to other members of the production team. Monitoring the process during manufacture to ensure total process control is maintained, ensuring an energetic pursuit of improved methods and production times. Make use of network links DNC to ensure transmission of command from computer servers to computer numerical control modules Take accurate measurements of work piece and gauges for production Carryout daily maintenance measures to ensure good condition of machines Operate one or more machines with little or no assistance Produce and update procedure and process set-up sheets High degree of attention to detail Interpretation of technical drawings with a high-level understanding of geometric dimensions & tolerances Ensure that quality and safety standards are always adhered to Ensures that all work is carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with the relevant safe systems of work and generally in accordance with the company's safety policies.

CNC Miller - What key skills and experience do I need?



Must have the right to live and work in the UK (Essential) A minimum of 3 years' experience working within a high precision manufacturing environment Experience of working to engineering drawings or work instructions i.e. Job Cards Wide ranging manufacturing process knowledge, across differing materials in varying applications Knowledge of how to machine, handle and protect all types of manufactured components Experience and ability to Program, set and operate different machine tools Experience of programming CNC milling machines or CNC Mill/Turn machine Ability to interpret technical drawings with a high-level understanding of geometric dimensions & tolerances Programming. setting and operating of CNC milling 3 & 4 axis machines Knowledge of modern tooling and machining techniques (Desirable) Good knowledge of Health & Safety (Desirable) Mazak, Heidenheim and Fanuc controls (Desirable)


Qualifications

CNC Miller - What qualifications should I have?



Completed a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering Security Clearance (Desirable)
