Job Purpose:
The CNC Miller Setter/Operator will be responsible for the efficient operation of CNC milling machines to produce precision-engineered components. This role involves loading and unloading machines, basic setup, and in-process inspection to ensure parts meet required specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Set and Operate CNC milling machines to produce parts as per technical drawings
Load/unload components into machines and run production cycles
Monitor machining process to ensure quality and consistency
Carry out basic in-process checks using measuring tools (verniers, micrometers, gauges)
Identify and report any deviations or machine issues
Keep work area clean and organised
Follow health and safety guidelines at all times
Assist with general workshop duties when required
Requirements:
Essential:
Previous experience setting/operating CNC milling machines in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
Familiarity with standard measuring tools and basic inspection methods
Good attention to detail
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
Desirable:
Experience with Siemens ShopMill or Fanuc controls
Basic understanding of CNC machine setup or programming
Mechanical or engineering qualification/apprenticeship
