As a One-Stop-Shop we are in the unique position of providing our customers with design and manufacturing of tooling, die-casting the components, machine finishing and powder coating all at one location.

We are looking for a talented individual with leadership skills to join our team within our modern CNC machining facility

Ability to set machines and run multiple machines is essential.

Experience of Fanuc and HAAS Controls would be advantageous

Technical Lead - CNC Mills



In this role you will be liaising with our Production Team to ensure that Production and Quality Targets are met in accordance with the Production Plan and Product Specifications. You will be responsible for ensuring all relevant Technical queries within the department are resolved and actioned accordingly.

The post holder would also be responsible for ensuring the set-up an operation of CNC milling machines for production of machined die-castings. In addition, developing and maintaining control of Technical Procedures relating to the relevant Milling Operations.

You would also be responsible for training members of the team and mentoring, whilst sharing best practices with less experienced colleagues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities



Set and operate CNC Milling Machines (3 & 4 axis)

Liaise with the CAD/CAM team to develop and control CNC programs and be able to manipulate CNC programs for machine optimisation

Comply with all corporate and local site Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures and regulations

Responsibility for developing appropriate and relevant control plans, maintenance and safety schedules

Read, understand and be able to challenge engineering drawings in consultation with the CAD/CAM department

Act in accordance with the Company's code of conduct and guiding principles

Report and resolve any near miss accidents, incidents or HSE irregularities and prevent future occurrences

Carry out HSE and workplace inspections

Ensure that the milling area is kept clean, tidy and organised to provide a good working environment

Ensure your PPE is used and maintained correctly

Demonstrate and use a proactive mindset to actively develop processes to increase automation and utilisation of equipment

Ensure maximum machine efficiency through effective prioritisation and use of machine automation

Responsible for driving the department to support the business in meeting all quality, delivery and cost objectives

Support the production team with work scheduling

Deputise for the milling technical lead as appropriate

Basic Qualifications



Required: Formal engineering apprenticeship to NVQ3 level/City and Guilds or equivalent work experience

Desirable: Higher National Certificate in Engineering Discipline

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required



Extensive experience in setting, programming and operation of CNC equipment

Extensive experience of use of measuring equipment

Extensive experience of interpreting engineering drawings

Extensive experience of modern cutting tools and techniques

Experienced and conversant PC user

Desirable



Experience in Fanuc machine tool controls

Experience in 4th axis machine tools

Experience in offline programming and part verification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From 17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 41.50 per week
